What’s happening? I’m really excited about today’s lesson because I actually just recently rewatched the Dark Knight movie.

It had been years since I’d seen it, and it really blew me away.

It’s incredibly done. All of the actors did just a fantastic work in this film, but, probably no role is more iconic or impactful than Heath Ledger’s Joker.

And since the new Joker movie just came out, this seemed like the perfect moment to bring you a lesson with this phenomenal film.

As you might have noticed , this scene takes place { happens } inside of an interrogation room.

Though the word interrogation means the same as a question .

In the context of an inovestaging , interrogation refers to an intense question session.

With the goal of obtaining information .

Police officers normally make use of different techniques involving an understanding of psychology , Such as the good cop , bad cop routine .

This is a situation in which tow police officers{cope} interrogate and try to obtain useful information from somebody by one of them being friendly and pleasant and the other being aggressive and making accusation .

So , this is a big mess , huh ?

I figured we could go good cop , bad cop .

I’ll talk to him first , then you guys go in _ So in the scene , joker asks if he is doing the good cop , bad cop routine , since he sees commissioner Gordon acting friendly (that is , being the “good cup ) By saying he was going to get a cup of coffee.

So joker now expects the “ bad cop “ to come in after Gordon leaves .

However , how joker used it here , he just means to steal from or trick the mob dealers out of their money .

Figuratively , you can say it referring to nonsense or stupid ideas.

In the case of this scene , Batman insults { offends} joker by calling him garbage .

This is more commonly said referring to things.

So , for example , if someone is so terrible you wish you could throw it in the trash , like really bad music , you can also call it garbage .

Joker is sarcastically saying that the police , and perhaps all normal people , who are so apparently civilized , will actually start to fight each other when the situation gets too difficult .

Joker is likely foreshadowing to an event that hppens later in the film .

By daying that , joker means that his ideas are seen as strange or bad now , but that they will be accepted in the future .
