In late 2019, U.S. officials discovered the longest underground path ever found on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Contraband
The path runs from Tijuana, Mexico into the U.S. city of San Diego.
A border security expert says Mexican gangs are forced underground to transport contraband into the United States because of increased security in the area.
Contraband is anything that is secretly or illegally brought into or taken out of a country.
Contraband is also possessions that are against a law or rule.
