Zero conditional

Hello. We’re her to start off the conditional series with zero conditional. If you take a look at this table, you can see that the conditionals are an if clause and its possible results.

We use the zero conditional when we know the result. For example, if I mixed baking soda with vinegar, it reacts. Like this. Another example would be if I have a balloon and some scissors and I stab, it pops. so, if I stab the balloon, it pops. Ouch!

Because it is a high probability rate, we don’t have to use modals. We just say: If clause and result. If I stab a balloon, it pops. If I mix baking soda and vinegar, it reacts. If I heat ice, it melts. Note here that we only use a comma when the “If clause” is at the beginning of the sentence. So for example: If I heat ice, it melts. It melts If I heat ice. There are a lot of experiments you can do using household items that we know the outcome, too.
