Step 1.

Watch scene with subtitles:

  • Okay, here’s another one.

If a zombie bites a vampire, and the vampire bites a human, does the human become a vampire or a Zombie?

Or a “zompire”?

  • Hi sheldon.

He’s in my spot.

Leonard, make him stop being naked in my spot.

  • Howard, what are you doing?

-He wasn’t using it.

And I needed a nice cool piece of leather to wiggle my naked ass on.

  • Get off there!

-Give me back my Iron Man helmet.

-Give me back my parking space.

-You don’t need a parking space.

You don’t have a car.

-You don’t need an Iron Man helmet.

You’re not Iron Man.

  • Well, we appear to have reached an impasse.

And you know, I have to say, I thought you’d be more upset that your laptops is sitting on my junk.

  • I didn’t pick up on that.

That’s a nice touch.

Step 2.

Learn with the scene:

Film : If a zombie bites a vampire…

Narrator :

Bite; To press down on or cut into something with the teeth.

If an animal or person bites you, they use their teeth to hurt you.

Example : Make him stop; make-im stop.

Film :

  • He’s in my spot.

Leonard, make him stop being naked in my spot.

Narrator :

Spot ; Used to refer to a particular place, especially one that’s considered different or special.

In this series, Sheldon’s spot is the left hand side of couch, which he claimed as his own.

What are you doing?

Wha-dir you doing?

Wha-dir you doing?

Film :

  • And I needed a nice cool piece of leather to wiggle my naked ass on.

Narrator :

Leather ; Animal skin used for making shoes, clothes, or bags.

Example : He wore a leather jacket.

Wiggle ; To move up and down or from side in short quick movements.

Film :

Narrator :

Example :

Get off the grass!

Film :

  • Give me back ; gimme back.

-Give me back my Iron Man helmet.

Narrator :

Give (something) back ; To return something.

Example :

If I lend you my computer, when will you give it back to me?

Helmet ; The piece of armor or material used to protect the head, most commonly in war, on a bike, or in sports.

Iron Man ;  The American Hero from the famous movie series and Comic Book, with the same name, in which the superhero wears a most interesting helmet.

Film:

  • well, we appear to have reached an impasse.

Narrator:

Impasse;  A situation in which no progress seems possible.

Two common ways this is used are the phrases “to be at an impasse” or “to reach an impasse. “

Negotiations were moving forward but now it seems they’ve reached an impasse.

Film:

  • I have to say, thought you’d be more upset that your laptop is sitting on my junk.

Narrator:

Upset; To be angry or unhappy because something unpleasant happened to you.

Example:

She’s going to get very upset when she finds out you crashed her car.

My/your/his junk ; Slang word for a man’s private parts, an expression usually used between guys.

Film:

  • I didn’t pick up on that.

That’s a nice touch.

Narrator:

Pick up on something ; To perceive or notice something subtle or not easily noticeable.

Nice touch; A small, but pleasant addition to something.
