All Out – Commentary

Hi, I’m AJ Hoge and welcome to the commentary for this months’ lesson. All out, all out effort an all out effort.

AJ it’s called Effortless English. Why is it called Effortless English? Because effortless is the result, effortless is the reward, effortless is the final outcome you will speak; English, effortlessly.

It will feel effortless, but in the beginning you need a lot of effort. In the beginning you need an all out effort. You know this, think of an exercise program, you or someone else who maybe is overweight, maybe not in good shape and they want to lose weight. They want to become healthier. They want to have more energy to be stronger.

The hardest time is the beginning. The hardest time of an exercise program is right at the beginning when you first start that’s the toughest time, because you have so much laziness already, to overcome that laziness, to overcome your lack of energy, to overcome the lack of motivation and also too in the beginning everything feels more difficult because you’re not in good shape. Maybe you’re a little bit fat. Maybe your energy’s a little bit lower, so the beginning time of that exercise program is the toughest, starting.

You know the first few months that’s when you need to make that all out effort, like to pour all of your mental and emotional energy into your exercise program. And so for a while, for a while, not forever just for a while, you have to become totally focused on health and exercise. You have to become super, super careful about everything you eat. You can’t eat just a little bit sugar, no nothing. No bad food at all, you have to be very, very, very tough, an all out effort with your eating. And you have to exercise every single day. Maybe you walk some days, maybe some days you lift weights, other days maybe you run or swim or stretch but you’re doing something every single day.

Maybe you are also reading books about health, reading books about nutrition, reading books about exercise. You’re breaking all your bad habits, it’s a huge effort at the beginning. You’re making a big, big change in your life, and to get that success that you want, to be really healthy, to have great fitness, you do have to make an all out effort for a while. But here’s the good news. If you already exercise then you’ll know this already exercise then you’ll know this already that after you finally get the habit of exercising and your energy starts to go up and your strength goes up and you lose a lot of that extra fat, it all becomes easier, you don’t need to do the all out effort anymore. It becomes a habit. It becomes part of your life, just natural.

And so going for a walk for one hour starts to feel very easy. Maybe in the beginning it felt like so much hard work, so much effort to walk every day for one hour or an hour and a half, but after six months that just seems relaxing. Uh, I think I’ll go for a nice little walk today. I’ll go walk for an hour, why not? It’s a way to relax. It requires almost no effort at all and the same is true with your food. You start eating healthier food, you start to enjoy it and now it’s no effort, it’s no effort to eat fish you enjoy it, you like it, it tastes good, it’s a new habit.

You don’t need the all out effort anymore. That’s the good news. That’s the good news about this. All out is important in the beginning to make and get that breakthrough, but then afterwards everything becomes quite effortless, quite easy and you can really relax. You keep going, you have the momentum, you’ll relax and keep getting great results, keep having the success with much, much, much less effort. So it’s worth it. What I’m telling you is, even if it feels like a lot its worth, it’s rewarding, it will give you what you want to make that big effort just for a while, just for a while.

I told you already in the main lesson the story of Effortless English and starting my own business and this is a common story for people who start their own business. It is a lot of effort in the beginning, especially if you don’t have experience, especially if it’s new for you. There’s so much to learn, you make so many mistakes in the beginning and then you learn from them and then you try something new. It does require a lot of work, this is why sometimes people think oh, entrepreneurs they’re workaholics, you have to be a workaholic for your whole life to be an entrepreneur. That’s not true, but maybe you do have to be a workaholic for a year, in the beginning to get it going. That’s the danger period for starting your own business. That’s when most of them fail.

So yes, you probably should make an all out effort in the beginning, in the beginning for just that first year and then after that you can relax and enjoy your success. You don’t need to work all out forever, just for a year, just for a year and then you have many, many, many, many years of freedom and flexibility and success. So that one year gives you decades, a decade is 10 years, decades 10, 20 or more, 30 years or more of financial freedom and success for just one all out effort. And the same is true for your English, a one year all out effort with VIP, with these lessons will give you the rest of your life, speaking English fluently and powerfully, the rest of your life, thinking in English. The rest of your life, speaking English effortlessly, no effort at all.

All you need is one year of an all out effort. Now a big part of an all out effort is repetition, you gotta do the important things every single day. With the business you have to do the important things every single day. If you need marketing you gotta market and market and market and sell and sell and sell and work and work and work and do those things every single day and get better and better and better at those important everyday skills. It’s the same with your English. A lot of people think to speak English fluently, powerfully, effortlessly. To think in English a lot of people think they need to study lots and lots and lots and lots of advanced vocabulary and grammar rules. You know that’s not true, what you actually need is a huge amount of repetition of the core fundamental, most common phrases and grammar.

That’s what you’re getting, especially in the mini story and point of view story lessons. They may feel easy, they’re supposed to. They’re supposed to feel easy, I designed them so they will feel fairly easy to you, but you need to repeat them daily, many, many, many times. They will go deeper and deeper and deeper into your brain. You’ll internalize them we call this, internalize it means it comes inside of you, the English, the phrases, the vocabulary and especially the grammar will become part of you on the inside. That’s when it becomes automatic. That’s when you will think in English, no translating, no thinking about your own language at all. It will all be 100% in English.

That’s when the words pop out of your mouth automatically. That’s when the correct grammar comes out of your mouth automatically. You don’t even think about it, it just happens automatically. It’s from that huge amount of repetition, especially the mini story lessons and the point of view lessons. So important, but also the main and also the commentary. An all out effort gives you the results for a lifetime, one year all out effort, a lifetime of enjoying your success, enjoying the benefits.

So let’s talk about what do you need to do with your VIP in English and with any other big, big dream you have. Maybe it’s being financially free. Maybe it’s travel, whatever your big dream is.

The first thing you must do is decide what is the number one dream in your life right now? What is this number one thing? As you can see with an all out effort you can’t do it with a lot of things, it can only be one thing at a time. Now, you can have an all out effort this year focused on your health, for example, but you can’t do an all out effort with your health and English and a business. Then you’re dividing your time. You’re dividing your effort, so you’re not giving all out.

You’re not giving 100%, you’re only giving 33% to each one. That’s not an all out effort.

So the first step is you have to decide what is your number one priority? Meaning, what is most important to you now, this year? Let’s just look at one year, a one year time span, time period.

In the next 12 months, 12 months from now what’s the number one most important dream or goal for you in your life? You have to choose one. This is hard for some people because they want everything. I want everything. I want more money. I want a better job. I want a better family. I want this. Well of course you do, but you often have to decide what’s most important now and you do them step-by-step. You do them one by one.

So, for example, the next 12 months you focus on English and you achieve speaking effortlessly, powerfully. Well then you can relax. Then, of course, you’ll continue with your English for your whole life, but after this all out effort, after you have the big breakthrough, well then you only need maybe an hour a day of English just to maintain and to continue improving.

So then next year you can choose the next thing that is most important to you and you can make an all out effort for that. Maybe it’s your health, maybe it’s money I don’t know. You have to decide, of course.

But this is a great way to have big successes in your life, instead of dividing your efforts you make an all out effort on one thing at a time. So decide what that is for you, you have to make a decision. Is it English and the VIP program? Great. Or, is it something else in your life, health, money, family, you decide. That’s step one, what’s your number one priority? You must decide.

You must choose.

Step number two, commit to a time period. You have to decide on a specific time period for your all out effort. I recommend between 6-12 months, 6-12 months. With my business I chose 12 months, actually I probably did even a little bit longer than 12 months, but you need to decide a minimum. What’s the minimum amount of time you will make this all out effort, so the total focus of your energies, your extra energy, your free time will be on just this one thing for how long?

The minimum is 6 months. It’s hard to make a big breakthrough in less than 6 months, so I recommend at least 6 months, but a year is also a good time so anywhere, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months you decide. That’s step two, choose your time period where you will make this all out effort.

So step one, choose the one thing that’s most important, the big dream right now.

Step two, choose your time period 6 months, 9 months, 12 months.

And step three, you do it. Step three, you put all, all, 100% of your free time and energy into this one goal, this one dream. It’s an all out effort.

Now yes, I know you have several things in life you must do and continue to do them. When I started my business, I had a job, I still had to go to my job, so of course I had to continue doing that, I needed the paycheck until I started my business, until my business was successful. I needed to do that job, of course. So I continued going to my job and of course I had to eat, so of course I ate lunch, I ate dinner, I ate breakfast every day. So, of course, you have your normal things you must do each day, continue to do those of course. But, you have a lot of free time in your day.

You have a lot of free time in your day where you watch TV maybe or go to movies or just lay around and be lazy. There’s lots and lots of time you can find in your day. Instead of doing those things, instead you’re going to work on this number one priority, this number one dream. You’re going to use every single free moment, seven days a week, seven days a week. Not five days a week, not six days a week, seven days a week, you never take a break. There are no free days with an all out effort.

You’ll enjoy your free time in 6 months, 9 months or 1 year and then you’ll enjoy the results and the free time for the rest of your life. But during this all out effort, every single free moment you will use to work on this big dream and goal. If that’s Effortless English and VIP it means every single moment you have free you will be listening to VIP lessons. You could also listen to my podcast a little bit if you have the pronunciation course. That’s okay too, but you’ll be listening to Effortless English every single free moment. That means try to get four hours a day, try to get six hours a day, eight hours a day, nine hours a day or more, listening to your VIP lessons, getting a huge, a gigantic, a big, big, big amount of repetition every single day.

How many days a week? Seven days a week, every single day for at least 6 months, 9 months or 12 months, even better. It’s a massive, a huge, all out effort towards your dream to break through. When you do this you will create a huge amount of momentum. In the beginning it might feel difficult, it might feel difficult I understand, in the beginning, your first month, maybe your first two months you’re like ahh you’ve gotta use all your motivation. You gotta push yourself to do this, but then it will become easier. You will overcome your sloth, your laziness.

You’ll start to overcome it. You’ll start to feel less and less lazy and more and more motivated. It will become a habit. It will become part of your life.

You’ll start to create momentum and at some point you’ll have your first breakthrough. You will have many big breakthroughs during this time period. Your first one, you’ll notice a sudden improvement in your understanding, a sudden improvement in your speaking ability. Keep going. Keep going with your all out effort and then a few months later another breakthrough and then another and then another. And then you’ll have your really big breakthrough. You will begin to think in English. You’ll stop translating. You’ll stop thinking in your own language. You’ll stop thinking about grammar rules. You’ll dream in English sometimes when you’re asleep.

And when you start to speak English there will be no translating it’ll just come out. Your thinking will be in English. Your speaking will be in English. It will be automatic and effortless. You will finally achieve Effortless English speaking. That’s the result you’ll get but you must make this all out effort to do that.

Now the same thing will happen in other areas of your life. If you choose fitness as your all out effort you’re also going to probably struggle and fight in the beginning… oh, I feel lazy. I don’t want to go running today it’s cold or it’s hot or it’s raining or something and you’ll have to use a lot of mental energy to push yourself. You’ll feel this laziness and tiredness, for a while, maybe a month, maybe two months. But then you’ll notice it starts to become easier. Your motivation starts to go up. Your laziness drops. You’ll have a breakthrough where you’ll go out and you’ll have a really good run and you’ll feel fantastic. You’ll run a full hour, an hour and a half, two hours and feel really good the whole time.

And then another breakthrough, and another breakthrough, and another breakthrough and then finally you’ll get that big breakthrough where you will actually become addicted in a positive good way. You’ll become addicted to exercise. Instead of trying to push yourself to exercise you’ll feel pulled, like you must do it. If someday maybe you get busy and you can’t exercise, you’ll be annoyed… I couldn’t exercise eh and you’ll want to exercise. You’ll go exercise late at night or you’ll get up extra early in the morning, because you must, must, must do it. It is now part of your life. It is now part of who you are. The fat will drop off of your body. The muscle will get better. Your energy will go up, everything will improve.

Big breakthrough, now you are truly an athlete, it’s part of you, part of your identity, who you are. You have achieved this big, big breakthrough because of your all out effort.

This month to review.

Number one, choose your number one priority, the top number one dream you have for this year.

Number two, decide your time period, your minimum time period for your all out effort. At least 6 months, 9 months is good, 12 months even better.

Number three, every single day, every free moment you have you make your all out effort in this one area.

Listen to these audios every single day as many times per day as possible. A big all out effort to finally achieve your biggest dreams with English.

See you next time. Bye for now.
