Whos getting married to Emma and Harriet?

Mariam Hello again. I’m Mariam. Let’s continue with our story about Emma. She’s trying to find a perfect husband for her friend but claims she does not want any romance for herself.

Emma is keen to see her romantic plans for Harriet right through to the end but they start to fail when she realises that Harriet is not interested in Frank Churchill. Harriet confesses to being in love with Emma’s good friend, Mr Knightley. It’s now that Emma realises that she actually loves Mr Knightley too but she feels she has no right to stop Harriet getting romantically involved with him.

However, it turns out that Mr Knightley is actually interested in Emma and he attempts to tell her this - but Emma wants to do the right thing and give Harriet the opportunity to marry him, so she stops him making any romantic proposals to her.

All these misunderstandings are finally cleared up and right away Emma marries Mr Knightley. And Harriet - she ends up marrying the man she first loved - a farmer called Robert Martin.

So now you can see the consequences of trying to organise someone else’s relationship - although everything worked out for the best in this story. I hope you’ll join me again soon for another one. Bye for now.
