Impermanence - VIP POV

Hi, this is AJ. Welcome to the point-of-view stories. Let’s start first with the…let’s do the present first.

Okay, so Chim-chim and Heva are sitting together talking and Chim-chim has a problem. Chim-chim feels lonely. Of course, he loves his good friend Heva, but he has lost touch with most of his other friends and most of his family members. So he has lost touch with them, poor Chim-chim, and he feels lonely because of this. So Heva decides to help him get back in touch with his family and get back in touch with his old friends and so Heva offers to help him and Chim-chim says “Yes, definitely, I want your help because two heads are better than one.” Two people working together is better than just one person by themselves.

So they get together and they talk and they discuss and they concoct a plan together and the next day when they get up Heva says “Let’s get the ball rolling” and so they start by calling every one of Chim-chim’s family members and all of his old friends that he had lost touch with.

Next, Chim-chim writes letters to all of them. After he finishes all the phone calls he sits down and he writes a bunch of letters and he mails the letters to all his old friends and to all of his family members and then, finally, he gets on the computer and he searches Facebook and he friends all of his old friends and family members too.

Of course, we’re using ‘friend’ as a verb here, ‘to friend’, kind of slang use.

So, in a flash, Chim-chim reconnects with his family, in a flash, he reconnects with his old friends and in a flash, very quickly, he creates a new community. He reconnects with his community. He gets back in touch with everyone.

That’s the end of our first version. Our next version starts with ‘since’.

So since he has become rich and famous, Chim-chim has felt a bit lonely. Because, see, during this time he has lost touch with his family. He has become so busy, always doing business, always so focused on business, that he has lost touch with his family.

He has lost communication with them and he has also lost touch with his old friends and because of this he has felt quite lonely for a long time.

So even though he has had Heva, of course, as his best friend and partner and that’s been great, but even though he has had Heva he has still felt quite lonely during this time ever since he became quite successful and, well, Heva has felt bad about this too, watching Chim-chim get lonelier and so finally one day they have a discussion and Heva says “I’m going to help you get back in touch with your family and get back in touch with your old friends” and Chim-chim says “Yes, that would be great. Two heads are better than one. Let’s think about it. Let’s concoct a plan” and they do. They sit together and they talk and they concoct a plan to help Chim-chim reconnect with everyone.

Well, the next day they get up and Heva says “Let’s get the ball rolling.” So immediately Chim-chim picks up the phone and he starts calling all of his family members and he calls them one by one and after he does that he calls all of his old friends and talks to them again.

After all of that he gets a pen and paper and he writes letters to all of his old friends and to all of his family members and he sends them out and then, finally, he gets on the computer and he searches for his old friends and for his family members on Facebook and he friends them. He adds them as a friend to his website. After doing all of this he reconnects with his whole community again. In a flash, very quickly, in a flash, he recreates a community again. He reconnects with his community.

All right, our final version is in the future. We’re imaging it or we’re predicting it happening and, of course, when I use the word ‘gonna’ in this story it means going to.

Gonna is casual. We use it in casual speech. We don’t use it in writing so much, certainly not formal writing. So, anyway, it’s time to talk about the future.

In the future Chim-chim is gonna be lonely. He’s gonna feel lonely. He’s going to feel lonely. You know he’ll be happy, of course, that’s he’s successful. He’ll be very happy that he has his best friend Heva, but he’s still gonna feel kind of lonely because at that time he will have lost touch with his old friends and he will have lost touch with his family members at that time in the future.

Now, luckily, Heva will help him. Heva will say “I’m gonna help you get back in touch with your family and friends again. I wanna help you.” (‘Wanna’ means want to. Again, casual speech, wanna.) So Chim-chim says “Yes, two heads are better than one. Let’s do it. I want you to help me.” So they’ll get together and they’ll concoct a plan. They’ll create a plan and then the next day they’ll get up and Heva will say “All right, let’s get the ball rolling. Let’s get started.”

So first, of course, Chim-chim is going to call and talk to all of his family members and call and talk to all of his old friends. Next, he’s gonna get some paper and he’s gonna write a letter and mail out letters to all of his old friends and to all of his family and, finally, he’s gonna get on Facebook and he’s going to search for his family and old friends and he’s gonna friend them. He’s gonna add them as friends to his Facebook page.

After he does all of this he’ll very quickly, in a flash, create a community again. He’ll reconnect with his community again and, of course, he’ll be much happier and he won’t be, he will not be, he won’t be lonely anymore and, of course, Heva will be happy for him too.

That’s the end of our final version. Just listen to these 10 days in this month is kind of the standard. If you can do more than that, that’s great. All you need to do is listen.

Don’t think too much about the grammar.

See you again. Have a great day, bye-bye.
