HELLO EVERYBODY.

HOW ARE YOU DOING?

WELCOME TO lesson number 7 absolutely essential words.

I’m going to introduce twelve essential words in this lesson.

Please focus try to understand the correct pronunciation and at the end we will use all of these interesting and essential words in one interesting a nice story.

Are you ready? I’m ready. Let’s get started.

The first word of today and in this lesson is postpone, postpone.

So do you know the meaning of postpone? postpone means to put off to a later time. We can say delay.

So when you postpone something you delays, maybe you do it later.

Let me give you some examples.

a. The young couple wanted to postpone their wedding until they were sure they could handle the burdens of marriage.

That’s right. So the essential word here is burden.

Burden means actually what is carried, responsibilities or We can say a load.

We studied this word in previous lessons rights and I’m not sure if you can remember it.

If you can’t. I suggest you to come back and review those lessons.

b. I neglected to postpone the party because I thought everyone would be able to come.

Yes. I neglected. the essential word here is neglect which means to pay little or no attention to something.

c. The supermarket’s owner planned to postponed the grand opening until Saturday.

So he decided to delay the grand opening until Saturday.

So postpone here means to delay something. postpone can be the verb and a noun.

the second word is consent, consent.

So consent means to agree to give permissions or approval to something, consent.

So let me give you some examples.

a. my teacher consented to let our class leave early.

Oh that’s a very good teacher. He agreed to let our class leave early.

b. David would not consent to our plan.

And the last examples:

c. the majority of our club members consented to raise that dues.

Yes majority. The essential word in this sentence. majority means most of or more than half as I explained the meaning of this word for you before.

So consent means agree.

the next word is massive,massive. as you can see in this picture there is a massive ship right.

This ship is very massive which means big and heavy.

Something that is very big and heavy at the same time. large and Solid Or we can say BULKY, BULKY another Great synonym for massive. Or we can say also huge.

Let’s use this word in different examples.

a. The boss asked some employees to lift the massive box. A very huge box.

The essential word here is employee. Which means a person who works for a pay.

b. from lifting weights really had developed massive are muscles.

That’s Great. Massive.Very big our muscles.

c. the main building on the campus was so massive that the new students had trouble finding their way around at first.

the essential word here as you can see is campus. Campus means the ground of college university or school.

And we studied this actually word in previous lessons. again I have to suggest to you if you forget some of these words don’t worry we are going to review them.

We’re going to repeat them in different other examples in the actually following lessons.

this essential word is capsule.

Capsule, capsule means small case or covering.

Actually it has different meaning.

a. the small capsule contained notes the spy had written after the meeting.

b. a New, untested medicine was detected in the capsule by the police scientists.

The essential word here is detect which means to find out or to discover, detect.

c. he explored this space capsule for spatial equipments.

Yes explore something means to actually research about IT. to explore. and there is another synonym that is probe.

Is a synonym for explore.

The next word is preserve, preserve.

Can you understand the meaning of preserve from this picture actually preserved means to keep from harm or change. to keep something safe. Or we can say to protect.

so protect is the best synonym for preserve. the noun for preserve is do you Know its preservation.

Yes exactly. preservation

So let me give you some examples.

a. The lawyers wanted to preserve the newest reforms in the law.

Yes reform. Can you remember the meaning of reform?

Reform means actually to change for better.To change something for better.

the next example

b. farmers feel that their rural homes should be preserve. should be protected.

The essential word here is rural which means something related to the village or the country.

c. The outfielder’s records are preserved in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Yes it’s protected.

So if you want to keep some things safe and protected you can use the word preserve.

The next essential and very important word is denounce, denounce.

As you can see in this picture, she’s trying to denounce somebody. so denounce means to condemn in public to express strong disapproval of something.

So when you condemn somebody in public you denounce him or her.

a. the father denounce his son for lying to the district attorney.Yes.

b. some people denounce the government for probing into their private lives.

Yes we have to actually denounce the government for probing. probing the essential word of this sentence means to research or to search to something to explore something.Yes.

And example :

c. the consumer advocate denounce the defective products being sold.

The essential word in this sentence is defective.

Can you remember the meaning of defect? Yes. Defect means error or mistake.

The next essential word is a unique, unique.

This victory you can see that she’s wearing or he’s wearing a unique may be a ring.

so unique means having no like or equal; being the only one of its kind.

Something that is matchless and special unique. so unique is an adjective.

a. going to Africa was a unique experience for us.

It was a special experience for us.

b. the inventor developed a unique method of making ice cream.

Yes invented and developed a unique special methods.

c. Albie has a unique collection of Israeli stamps.

so unique means something that is special something that is matchless, something that has no like or equal.

the next word is Torrent. Torrent. It’s a very dangerous strategy.

Sometimes Torrent. torrent is any violent rushing stream or we can say floods.

The best definition for a torrent we can say flood . Yes but we can use it in different Context. Let me give you some examples.

a. A massive rain was coming down in Torrent. massive really big. right?

b. in the debate, a torrent of questions was asked.

Can you remember the meaning of debate? Debate is a discussion right. Yes debate is a discussion.

c. after trying to defraud the public, Lefty was faced with a torrent of Changes Sorry Charges.

Yes.After trying to defraud to the essential word in this example is defraud. Which means to deceive somebody to take money by cheating.

That’s the meaning of defraud. And we have studied this word before

resent, resent, resent means to feel injured and angered at someone or something. resent.

a. Bertha resented the way her boyfriend treated her.

Yes she resented.

She feels actually injured or she’s angry because her boyfriend treated her in a bad way maybe.

b. the earthquake victim resented the poor emergency care.

That’s another nice example. the last example:

c. Columbus resented the fact that his crew wanted to turn back.

Yes so resent means to feel injured and anger that something or somebody.

molest, molest, molest.

As you can see in this picture I guess the boys trying to molest the girl. so molest me is

to interfere with and trouble to disturb.

a. my neighbor was molests when walking home from the subway.

Yes my neighbor she was molested.

b. The gang did a thorough job of molesting the people in the park.

Yes molesting means disturbing, disturbing the people in the park.

c. Lifeguards warned the man not to molest any of the swimmers. not to disturb any of the swimmers. Right.

That’s actually a very essential word which means disturb.

gloomy, gloomy. You can see in this picture the weather is very gloomy right.

So gloomy is dark dim in low spirits.

Sometimes when you feel really bad you feel gloomy you feel depressed maybe.

But we can use it for feeling for weather forever thing.

Example a. My cousin was gloomy because his best friend had moved away.

Yes. My cousin was feeling really depressed

b. the reason Doris wasn’t popular, was that she always had a gloomy appearance.

Yes. The essential word here is popular which means something that liked by many people. popular.

And the last example:

c. Joens Beach is not so Beautiful on a gloomy day.

yes gloomy day is a day that is very cloudy and dark and actually people on this day they like to go to bed on a sleep.

Yeah so gloomy and the last word is unforeseen, unforeseen. Unforeseen means not known beforehand, Unexpected when we speak about something that is unexpected we say that it is unforeseen and it’s an adjective.

Let me give you some examples.

a. We had some unforeseen problems with a new engine.

Yes, unexpected problems.

b. the probe into the Congressman’s finances turned up some unforeseen difficulties.

So the essential word here is probe which means a search. A search into the congressman’s finances turned up some unexpected difficulties.

And the example c:

the divers faced unforeseen trouble, unforeseen trouble in their search for their wreck.

yes unforeseen trouble unexpected troubles.

That’s great.

We learned twelve essential and very important words and we gave you lots of examples are we going to use all of these words in one interesting a nice story.
