Hello learner. How are you doing?

This is Ahmad Rabi and we are in Lesson Number 3 9 of 504 absolutely essential words.

I know you have learned many many essential words and we have reviewed many words and different lessons.

This is like every lesson we are going to teach you twelve essential words and we’re going to use these words in different examples sentences.

So we want to help you increase the level of your English vocabularies.

You just need to focus and do not forget to make story to make sentences with these given words.

Word number one of Lesson Number 39 is unearth. unearth means dig up; discover or find out.

There are three synonyms for this word.

Dig up or we can say discover something or find out.

a. The digging of the scientist unearthed a buried city.

b. A plot to defraud the investors was unearthed by the F.B.I.

It was discovered by the FBI.

We have one essential word in this lesson in this part in this sentence and that’s defraud.

Which means to take somebodies money right through deceiving.

c. The museum exhibited the vase that had been unearthed in Greece.

So what is the meaning of exhibit guys? Do you know?

So the museum exhibit means the museum showed. So exhibit something means to show something.

And this is the first words of lesson Number 39.

The next essential words is depart.

As you can see in this picture actually the president and his wife they are departing.

So depart means go away; leave; turn away from or we can say change or sometimes we can use it as the meaning die. yes depart is a verb.

a. We arrived in the village in the morning and departed that night.

b. Stan was vague about departing from his usual manner of choosing a partner.

Do you guys know the meaning of vague here? Vague means unclear but here Stan was vague It means he was He had doubt about departing a leaving he is usual manner.

c. Vera was a reluctant to mention that her uncle had long since actually departed.

She was reluctant. This is an essential word. Reluctant means unwilling.

Yes a person who is unwilling to do something.

World number three of lesson number Thirty nine is coincide. Coincide means occupy the same place in space; occupy the same time; or we can say correspond exactly or the other meaning of coincide is to agree.

So we can understand different meanings of this word.

Let’s use this word in different examples.

a. If these triangles were placed on the top of the other, they would coincides.

Because Pete’s and Jim’s are working hours coincide, so coincide here means to occupy the same time or correspond.

Let’s say happen at the same time. And they live in the same vicinity, they depart from their homes at the same time.

We have two essential words here.

The first one is vicinity which means neighborhood and the next one is depart actually we started this word just a few minutes ago which means to leave.

Yes to leave.

c. My verdict on the film coincides with Adele’s.

Do you guys know the meaning of verdict?

Verdict here means judgement.

We studied this word and we learned to this words in the previous lesson. Lesson number Thirty eight. If you can remember.

The next essential word is cancel. Cancel means Cross out; mark so that it cannot be used or we can say wipe out or call off. Cancel, cancel is used as a verb once all the time.

a. The stamp was only partially canceled.

Partially means not completely.

b. Because the first shipment contained defective parts, Mr. Zweben canceled the rest of the order.

And the essential word here is defective which means full of errors and mistakes.

c. Having found just the right man for the job, Captain Mellides cancelled all further interviews.

Cancel and most of you guys I guess know the meaning of cancel.

Debtor, Debtor. Debtor is a person who owes something to others. So Debtor a person who owes something to other, somebody that should give money to other people.

a. If I borrow a dollar from you, on your debtor.

Exactly.

b. As a debtor who had received many favors from the banker Mr. Mertz was reluctant to testify against him.

He was reluctant. Reluctant to means actually unwilling. And I just told you the meaning of this words just few minutes ago.

c. A gloomy debtor’s prison was once the fate of those who could not repay their loans.

Do you guys know the meaning of gloomy?

We studied this word in previous lessons.

Gloomy means actually dismal or sad or depressed.

The next essential word is legible. Legible means something that is able to be read; easily to read or plain and clean.

Something that you can read is legible. The opposite is illegible.

a. Julia’s handwriting is beautiful and eligible.

b. Nancy hesitated in her reading because the words were scarcely legible.

So when you hesitate you failed to do something quickly.

Yes. That’s the meaning of hesitates.

And the next essential word in this sentence is scarcely which means hardly ever or barely.

c. Our teacher penalizes us for compositions that are not legible.

So penalize somebody means to punish somebody. And I guess most of you guys know the meaning of this word.

The next word the next essential word here is placard. Placard means a notice to be posted in public place or the other word for placard is poster.

As you can see this picture this little guy holding a placard on his head.

a. Colorful placards announced an urgent meeting.

A very necessary and important meeting.

b. Placards were placed throughout the neighborhood by a rival groups.

Rival here means competitive or a person who competes against others.

c. Numerous placards appeared around the city calling for volunteers.

And the essential word here reads actually numerous. Do you guys know the meaning of numerous? Numerous means several or many.

Yes that’s the meaning of numerous.

The next essential word is contagious. Contagious. I think in this picture this guy has a cold and cold I guess is contagious.

So contagious means spreading by contact, easily spreading from one to another.

So when we speak about something contagious something that spreads quickly by contact.

a. Scarlet fever is contagious.

b. I find that yawning is often contagious.

c. Interests in the project was contagious and soon all oppositions to eat collapsed.

Which means failed here Collapse means failed.

This is in the essential of the word of this sentence.

I love this word contagious.

The next essential word is clergy.

As you can see there are clear three clergy is in this picture.

So clergy meets persons prepared for religious work.

We can say clergymen as a group.

Ok. Clergymen.

a. We try never to hinder the clergy as they perform their sacred.

Actually life.

b. Friar Tuck was a member of the clergy who loved a jolly jest.

So jolly jest. Jolly means something that is funny and just means joke.

So funny jokes. He is jolly jest. We studied these words in previous lessons.

c. The majority of the clergy felt the new morality was menace to society.

Majority. do you know guys is the meaning of majority? majority means most of.

So majority of the clergy means most of the clergy.

They felt that the new morality. Morality means understanding the right from the wrong things and menace means danger.

So we have reviewed all of these words.

The next essential word a very important word is customary. Customary means something that is usual. Yes customary means something that is usual.

a. It was customary for wealthy Romans to recline while they were dining.

Yes recline means stretch out or a lay down.

b. The Robin Williams movie received the customary rave reviews from this critics.

Guys do you know the meaning of rave?

Yeah. Rave mean violence anger. We have studied these actually this word in previous lessons.

c. The traitor rejected the customary blindfold for the execution.

As you can see we have two essential words here in this sentence.

The first one is traitor which means a person who is cruel. Crueler and the next one is rejected actually which means refused. Yes. Refuse or deny something.

Transparent. And the last essential word in this lesson, lesson number 39 is transparent. Transparent is something that is easily seen through or we can say clear. Transparent means something that is clear.

a. Window glass is transparent. It’s clear to see.

b. Colonel Thomas is a man of transparent honesty and loyalty. loyalty here means honesty.

c. The homicide which means the killing Homicide means killing.

We have studied this essential word in previous lessons.

Homicide was a transparent case of jealousy that got out of hand.

Jealousy means wanting what other people have.

So we have a studied twelve essential words in this lesson.
