Lesson 31

Hello my dear friends. Welcome to lesson number thirty one of five-four absolutely essential words.

I am Ahmad Rabi and I’m always here to teach you some vocabularies.

Actually we’re goanna learn twelve essential vocabularies here. we’re going to use them in different actually context, sentences and I’m goanna help you to understand them very well, very clearly.

There is nothing to be worry about and if you’ve got any questions please let me know at the end of these lessons.

So guys let’s start with the first word of this lesson.

The first word, the first essential word is commuter, commuter. Commuter means a person who travels regularly especially over a considerable distance, between home and work.

As you can see in this picture there are lots of commuters sitting and waiting for the train to come.

Let’s use this word in different examples. This word is a noun.

a. The average commuter would welcome a chance to live in the vicinity of his or her work.

And the essential word here is vicinity which means neighborhood.

And we have studied this words in previous lesson.

b. Have your commuter’s tickets verified by the conductor.

And the essential word here is verified, verified means proved, proved.

c. A novel educational program gives college credit to commuters who listen to lecture while they are traveling to work.

Very nice program and the essential word here is novel educational program which means actually in new educational programs. so novel means something that is new.

So this was the first word of actual lesson number thirty one.

Let’s jump to the next word.

Word Number two is actually confine, confine. Confine means keep in or hold in. as you can see this bird in this cage is confine.

a. The fugitive was caught and confined to jail for another two years.

And the essential word in this sentences fugitive which means a person who runs away from other places.

b. A virus that was circulating in the area confine AI to his house.

So the essential word here is circulating which means moving around. Circulating.

Example c. polio confined President Roosevelt to a wheelchair.

And so this is a second words of lesson 32 confine.

Word number three is idle. Idle. As you can see in this picture.

This little boys idle delaying his time. So idle means not doing anything not busy or we can say sometimes a person who is lazy without any good reason or cause; to waste time.

So idle means a person who is lazy; a person who is not doing anything or not busy.

We can use this word as a verb and as an noun.

But let’s use it in different examples.

a. Any attempt to study was abandoned by the student, who idled away the morning. He wasted his time in the morning.

And the essential word here is abandon. Abandon means to leave or quit something.

b. The idle hours of a holiday frequently provide the best time to take stock.

And the essential word here is frequently which means regularly something that happens regularly.

c. Do not deceive yourself into thinking that these are just idle rumors.

And the essential word here is deceive.

Don’t deceive yourself which means don’t fool yourself. so deceive means to fool somebody.

The next essential word is Idol but this idol is different from the previous idle. This Idol comes with Oh but the interesting thing is that these two words have the same pronunciation and they are not they are pronounced in the same way.

A thing usually an image that is worshipped or a person or thing that is loved very much.

So that’s the meaning of Idol. As you can see in this picture the boy he is trying so kiss and he is kissing the idol. the famous girl.

I think she is a singer.

a. This small metal Idol illustrates the art of Ancient Rome.

So we have one essential word in this part and that’s illustrates which means to show something. Yes to show something.

b. John Wayne was the idol of many young people who liked cowboy movies. Yes.

c. Scientists are still trying to identify this idol found in the ruins.

And the essential word here is actually identify which means to understand and to recognize something. That’s it. idol.

Let’s find out about the next essential word and that’s jest.

We can use jest as a verb, as a noun but most of the time we use it as a noun.

So jest means to joke; Fun; mockery; thing to be laughed at; to joke; poke fun. so we can use it as a verb as a noun.

Let’s use it in different examples.

a. Though he spoke in jest, he spoke in a very funny way, Mark was undoubtedly giving us a message.

And the essential word here is undoubtedly which means certainly and unquestionably and we have studied this words in previous lessons.

Do not jest about matters of morality. Yes.

Do not joke about the matters of morality. Morality means understanding the right and the wrong things in life.

c. In some quarters in some places honesty and hard work have become object. Sorry subjects of jests.

Yes. In some places. so quarter means a place to live.

That’s it. Jest a very nice a very common word used in many different movies and many different passages and newspapers.

The next word is patriotic. As you can see in this picture there’s a great connection between this picture and patriotic.

So patriotic means actually loving one’s country a person who loves this country showing love and loyal; support for one’s country.

So patriotic is an adjective we use is for people or actually persons who love their own country very much.

They are very loyal to their country.

Let’s use it in three different examples.

a. It is patriotic to accept your responsibilities to your country.

b. The patriotic attitude of the captive led him to refuse to cooperate with the enemy.

So captive is a person who is actually held in a prison.

c. Nathan Hale’s patriotic statement has often been quoted: I regret that I have but one life to give for my country.

That’s a very nice quotation.

So patriotic means a person who loves actually while he’s country or loving one’s country.

Word number actually four or five I guess is dispute, dispute.

Actually as you can see in this picture the husband and the wives are disputing.

So dispute means disagree; oppose; try to win; or a debate or to disagreement.

As you can see we can use dispute as a verb and as and noun.

But let’s use it in different contexts.

a. Our patriotic soldiers patriotic as I told you loving one’s country.

So these soldiers actually have a great love for their country.

So our patriotic soldiers disputed. They actually disagreed and discussed every inch of ground during the battle.

b. The losing team disputed the contest up until the final minutes of play.

Finally means something that happens at the end.

c. Many occupants of the building were attracted by the noisy disputes.

And the essential word here is occupants which means the people who live in one place.

The next essential word of this lesson is valor. Valor means bravery and courage. Valor.

Valor is a noun. So let’s use it in different examples.

a. The valor of Vietnam veterans deserves the highest commendation.

And the essential word here is commendation.

So guys can you remember the meaning of commendation?

Commendation means admiring somebody. So admiring.

b. No one will dispute the valor of Washington’s men at Valley Forge.

And the last example is the fireman’s valor in the rushing into the flaming house saved the occupants from a horrid fate.

We have two essential words here in this sentence. The first one is occupants me which means the people who live in one place and the second one is horrid which means a terrible and horrible fate.

Valor bravery and actually courage.

The next word is lunatic.

As you can see this is a picture of a lunatic person lunatic is adjective.

And actually we can use it as a noun. lunatic means crazy person insane extremely foolish. lunatic.

We can use this word.

This is one of the most common words in many movies.

a. Only a lunatic would willingly descend into a monster’s cave.

So the essential word here is descend which means to come down.

Yes descend means come down.

b. Certain lunatic ideas persist even though they have been rejected by all logical minds.

We have actually two essential words here.

The first one is persist which means to continue.

And then second one is rejected which means or refused or denied.

And we have studied these words in different actually previous lessons.

And there is another essential word here is logical mind which means reasonable minds and rational minds.

c. My roommate has some lunatic ideas about changing the world.

Very good. So lunatic crazy insane and very foolish.

The next essential word is a vein, vein. Vein has different meanings.

One of the meaning of vain means mood and other meaning of vein is a blood vessel that carries blood to the heart.

And the third meaning of vein is a crack or seam or maybe seen in rock field with a different mineral.

But the two main meanings of vein is mood and a blood vessel.

Let’s use this word in a different example.

This word is a noun. As you can know.

a. A vein of lunacy seemed to run in the family.

So vein here means actually a mood. A lunacy as I told you before means craziness.

b. Mario’s rest was severely cut by the rock, causing his vein to bleed heavily.

We have one essential word and that is severely which means very actually in a very bad way or violently.

c. Explorations disclose their rich vein of copper in the mountain.

And the essential word here is disclose which means to reveal something. And that is the essential word of this part.

The next essential word is uneventful, uneventful. Uneventful means without important or striking happenings.

a. After the variety of bewildering experiences at the start of our trip, we were happy that the rest of the journey was uneventful.

So we have two essential words here.

The first one is variety which means different kinds of and the next one is bewildering which means confusing.

I hope you can remember the meaning of these words.

We have studied these words in previous lessons.

b. Our annual class outing proved quiet uneventful.

And the essential word here is annual which means a yearly or something that happens once a year.

c. The meeting seemed uneventful but expert observers realized that important decisions were being made. Uneventful.

This word is an adjective. as you can see we use it in different examples.

The next word is fertile. Fertile means bearing seeds or fruit; producing much of anything.

Example a, chicks hatch from fertile eggs. From producing eggs.

b. The loss of their fertile lands threw the farmers into a panic. Into a panic.

Panic is something that is we can see great fear, panic is a great fear.

Yes and this was an essential word of the previous lessons.

c. A fertile mind need never be uneasy about finding life uneventful.

And the essential word here is uneasy which means to be to feel uncomfortable about something.

And that was the essential words of Lesson Number 31.
