Lesson 28

Hello, dear learners welcome to lesson number 28 of 504 absolutely essential words and this lesson I’m going to introduce 12 essential words.

I’m going to give you lots of synonyms I’m gonna give you clear instructions.

So guys are you ready?

let’s start with the first words of lesson number 28 and that is outlaw.

outlaw

outlaw means: an exile; an outcast; a criminal; to declare unlawful.

So as you can see outlaw can be used as a verb and as a noun.

So let’s use this word in different examples:

a. Congress has outlawed the sale of certain drugs.

You can see in this sentence outlaw used as a verb.

b. The best-known outlaw of the American West was Jesse James.

c. An animal that is cast out by the rest of the pack is known as an outlaw.

So outlaw can be used as a verb; and as a noun; as a verb; actually means to declare or outlaw a lawful and as a actually noun means criminal, a person who is a criminal and against a law.

Word number two is promote.

Promote is a verb and the noun is promotion.

Promote means to raise in rank or importance; help to grow and develop; help to organize. Promote

a. Students who pass the test will be promoted to the next grade.

b. an accurate knowledge of other cultures will promote good will among people of different backgrounds.

And there is a very essential word in this sentence and that’s accurate which means can you remember the meaning of accurate?

We started this word in previous lessons. Accurate means exact, exact.

c. Several bankers invested an enormous sum of money to promote the idea.

And the essential word in this part is enormous, enormous, enormous means something that is bulky; massive; and very large; and big.

OK next word is undernourished

As you can see in this picture, these kids are undernourished.

undernourished means is not sufficiently fed.

a. The undernourished child was so feeble he could hardly walk.

Can you remember the meaning of feeble, I guess we study this word feeble in the previous lesson.

feeble means a person who is very weak; person who is not strong.

b. There is evidence that even wealthy people are undernourished because they do not eat sufficient quantities of healthful foods.

We have like one two three I guess essential words. two essential words in this sentence.

The first one is evidence which means proof and the next one is quantities which speaks about the number of things.

c. An infant who drinks enough milk will not be undernourished.

So undernourished it is a very essential word a very nice word which means not sufficiently fed.

The next four is illustrate.

Illustrate is a verb; an illustration is a noun. Illustrate means to make clear or explained by stories, examples comparisons, or other means; as serve as an example.

So that’s a meaning of illustrate.

We want to make things clear by example story and other things you illustrate them.

a. To illustrate how the heart sends blood around the body, the teacher described how a pump works.

b. This exhibit will illustrate the many uses of atomic energy.

This essential word in this part is exhibit which means a show and we study this word in previous lessons.

c. These stories illustrate Mark Twain’s serious side.

It’s a very nice words illustrate, illustrate.

The next essential word is disclose.

disclose

As you can see in this picture the man on the left is trying to disclose this story. So disclose means to uncover; and make known.

a. The lifting of the curtain disclosed a beautiful winter scene.

b. This letter discloses the source of his fortune.

Source is an essential word of this part which means the origin, the origin.

c. Samson, reclining in the arms of Dalilah, disclosed that the secret of his strength was in his long hair.

so reclining means actually leaning back or stretching out.

That’s an essential part of this sentence.

So disclose means to uncover something down.

That’s a very essential word. Disclose.

The next word is Excessive.

Excessive which means too much; too great; or extreme.

As you can see in this picture the girl she’s having excessive meal and that’s too much meal and that’s not good for a health I guess.

Let’s use this word which is an adjective in different examples.

a. Pollutions of the atmosphere is an excessive price to pay for so-called progress.

Exactly.

And this is an essential word pollution which means to make dirty; or dirt.

b. Numerous attempts have been made to outlaw get plans, sorry jet planes that make excessive noise, to make that make too much noise.

So we have two essential words here and we studied them recently numerous which means to many or several.

And the next one is outlaw which means to declare unlawful.

c. they inhabitants of Arizona are unaccustomed to excessive rarn.

So here there are two essential words.

The first word is inhabitants which means people who live in one place and or resident and the next one is on a constant which means not use to something.

the next essential word is disaster.

disaster

As you can see in this picture there has been a flood and this is a big disaster.

So disaster means an event that causes much suffering or loss; or a great misfortune.

That’s called disaster or a great misfortune.

a. The hurricane’s violent winds brought disaster to the coastal town.

So here the essential word is violent.

Which means actually severe or severe winds; violent winds.

b. The San Francisco earthquake and the Chicago Fire are two of the greatest disasters in American history.

Yes

c. the coach considered the captain’s injury a disaster for the team.

So to consider something means to think upon something for a long time in order to make decisions and actually we have studied this word in previous lessons.

Censor

Censor

Censor is a person who tells others how they ought to behave;

One who changes books, plays and other works so as to make them acceptable to the government; to make changes in.

So as you can see censor is a person who makes some changes in order to make them acceptable for the government.

Censor can be used as a verb; and as a noun for a person.

Let’s use it in different examples:

a. Some governments, national and local, censor books.

b. The censor felt that fiction as well as other books should receive the stamp of approval before they were put on sale.

So the essential word here is fiction which means something that is not real; or imaginary.

c. Any mention of the former prime minister was outlined by the censor.

It was against a law.

It was outlaw. so it was outlaw means to declare unlawful or to declare something that is against the law.

That’s an essential word, I guess we studied this word just few minutes ago in this lesson.

That’s a very nice word, censor.

Let’s find out about the next essential word and that’s culprit

Culprit means offender; a person who is guilty of a fault or a crime.

culprit.

There is another synonym for this word and that is delinquent.

I’m not sure whether you can remember this word or not.

a. Who is the culprit who has eaten all the strawberries?

So who is the guilty person.

b. the police caught the culprit with the stolen articles in his car.

c. In the Sherlock Holmes story, the culprit turned out to be a snake.

So culprit means a person who is guilty or we can say offender.

The next essential word is juvenile.

I love this word juvenile.

I think this is a picture of a juvenile.

Juvenile means a young; youthful; of or for boys and girls; a young person.

So a juvenile means a young person; or we can use it as an adjective and as a noun.

let’s use it in different contexts and different examples to make things more clearer.

a. My sister is known in the family as a juvenile delinquent as a young actually guilty person.

So delinquent means a person who is guilty and we have studied this for in previous lessons.

b. Paula is still young enough to wear juvenile fashions.

c. Ellen used to devour “ Cinderella “ and other stories for juveniles.

So devour here means to read something in a very interesting way.

Devour and we studied this word in previous lessons.

Devour

The next essential word is bait.

bait.

As you can see in this picture there is a great connection between bait and this picture.

so bait means anything, especially food, used to attract fish or other animals so they can may be caught; anything used to tempt or attract a person to begin something he or she does not wish to do; or to put bait on ( a hook ) or in ( a trap ); or the other meaning of bait means to torment by unkind or annoying remarks.

No bait can be used as a verb; and as a noun.

But let’s use it in different examples:

a. The secret of successful trout fishing is finding the right bait.

b. How can you expect to bait Mike into running for the class presidency when he has already refused every appeal?

So a bait here means attract somebody to do something for you.

Actually the essential word of this part is appeal. Can you remember the meaning of appeal.

Appeal means or requests.

c. Eddie is a good hunter because he knows the merit of each kind of bait for the different animals.

So the essential part of this actually sentence is merit.

We have studied this word in previous lessons which means actually goodness.

Merit means Goodness. yes.

And the last word of Lesson number 28 is insist.

insist is a verb; insistent is an adjective; and insistence is a noun.

So insist means to keep firmly to some demand, statement, or position.

As you can see in this picture the man insisted on something.

a. mother insists that we do our homework before we start sending e-mails.

b. She insisted that Sal was not jealous of his twin brother.

and the essential word of this sentence is jealous which means envious or a person who wants things you have.

c. The doctor insisted that Mariane get plenty of rest after the operation.

So that’s the meaning of insist to keep firmly to some demand, statement, or position.

So guys these words actually 12 essential words of a number 28.
