Lesson 26

Hello my dear friends welcome to Lesson number 26 of five- four absolutely essential words.

and this lesson I’m going to teach you twelve essential words and we are going to understand the meaning of these words and we’re gonna learn some other words in different sentences.

so if you already

let’s start with the first word.

the first word of Lesson Number twenty six is possible.

possible

I think most of the students know the meaning of possible.

possible may something that is able to be; be done; or happen ; or able to be true; able to be done; or chose probably

so possible and the negative part is impossible.

Let’s use this word in different examples:

a. Call me tomorrow evening if possible.

b. it is now possible for man to walk on the moon.

c. considering Melissa as weakness in writing, it is not possible for her to help you with your composition.

so we have an essential word here and that is consider.

consider something means to actually think about something to continue to think about something in order to make decisions.

so possible is the first words of five-four absolutely essential words lesson number 26.

word number two is compel.

compel

compel means force; or get by force.

as you can see in this picture the guys trying to compel him to do something.

a. It is not possible to compel a person to love his fellow man.

b. heavy floods compelled us to stop.

So heavy floods; forced us to stop.

c. Mr. Gorlin is a teacher who does not have to compel me to behave.

compel is one of the most actually common words in different.

actually books passages movies and podcasts and this is one of the most essential words.

compel

and that’s a verb we’ll use it as a verb you know so the times.

Word number three is awkward.

awkward

awkward means clumsy; not well-suited to use; not easily managed; or sometimes we can say embarrassing;

awkward is an adjective.

let’s use this word in different context and different examples:

a. Sally is very awkward in speaking to the class but quite relaxed with her own group of friends.

so she’s a little clumsy and is speaking to the class; awkward.

b. The handle of this bulky suitcase has an awkward shape.

it has a clumsy; or not well-suited to use shape.

so we have one essential word in this sentence and that’s bulky.

Can you guys tell me the meaning of bulky? Can you remember?

bulky means something that is very huge; very large; and very big; bulky.

c. Slow down because this is an awkward corner to turn.

yes.

you need to slow down on be careful around are curved corners.

So that’s the essential word of this part awkward.

So did the W’s are not pronounced here.

the next word is venture.

venture

As you can see in this picture she likes to venture.

a daring undertaking; an attempt to make money by taking business risks; to dare; to expose to risk.

So the main meaning of venture means to risk your life to do something.

venture

And this is used as a verb.

a. Ulysses was a man who would not reject any venture, no matter how dangerous.

And we have one essential words here and that is reject.

reject means to refuse; or to deny to do something.

b. John Jacob Astor made his fortune by a lucky venture in animal furs.

c. Medics venture their lives to save wounded soldiers.

Yes, medics venture their lives to save wounded soldiers.

And that’s the essential word of this part venture.

next word is awesome.

awesome

awesome is one of the most common words we used.

Actually this is an informal word.

We use it in different conversations.

So awesome means causing or showing great fear, wonder, or respect

and other meaning of awesome means something that is wonderful something that is great.

Let’s use this word in different context and different examples’

a. The towering mountains, covered with snow, are an awesome sight.

a wonderful sight

b. Connie had such an awesome amount of work to complete before graduation she doubted she would have everything ready in time.

she doubted; the essential word here is doubt; when you doubt something you are not sure about the result and you are not sure about it.

c. The atom bomb is an awesome achievement for mankind.

So this is an essential word of this part: Awesome

next word is guide.

As you can see in this picture: the teacher the woman she is trying to guide the tourists.

so guide means is a person who shows the way; to direct; or to manage.

guide.

a. Tourists often hire guides.

b. The Indian guided the hunters through the forest.

she showed them the way.

c. Use the suggestions in the handbook as a study guide.

So as you can see in these examples guide is used as a verb; and as a noun.

the next essential word of this part is quench.

quench.

As you can see in this picture: this person is very thirsty and he’s trying to quench his thirst.

so quench means to put an end to; or to drown: or put out;

quench

a. Foam will quench an oil fire.

b. only iced tea will quench my thirst on such a hot day.

So here in this example quench my thirst means to put an end to my thirst.

c. He reads and reads and reads to quench he’s thirst for knowledge.

That’s a very nice and necessary word quench; do not actually forget the meaning of this word;

quench is used as a verb in different examples.

the next word is betray.

betray

betray means is a giveaway to the enemy; or be unfaithful; mislead; or show.

As you can see in this picture: the girl or the person with the knife he is trying to betray his friend.

a. Nick’s awkward motions betrayed his nervousness.

b. without realizing what he was doing, the talkative soldier betrayed his unit’s plans.

c. The child’s eyes betrayed his fear of the fierce dog.

and as you can see we have one essential word in this sentence and that’s fierce.

fierce means, actually fierce dog means a wild dog; a fierce dog; or a violent dog.

the next essential word is utter.

utter or utter

utter means speak; make known; or express.

do you see this in this picture of the boy and the baby actually she’s trying to utter something; She’s trying to speak.

a. When Violet accidentally stepped on the nail, she uttered a sharp cry of pain.

b. Seth was surprised when he was told that he had uttered Joan’s name in his sleep.

c. When Mr. Fuller saw that his house had not been damaged in the fire, He uttered a sigh of relief.

Can you guys tell me the meaning of relief, We have studied this word in previous lessons.

If you can remember actually relief means to be free from any pain; relief.

the next essential word of this lesson is pacify.

pacify

pacify means to make calm; quiet down; bring peace to.

pacify.

As you can see here the child is crying and actually we need to pacify him.

We need to make him calm.

a. This toy should pacify that screaming baby.

Exactly.

b. We tried to pacify the woman who was angry at having to wait so long in line.

c. Soldiers were sent to pacify the countryside.

and I like this words because this is one of the most essential words and a very practical word.

respond or respond

I think most of you guys know the meaning of respond as you can see in this picture.

Everybody’s responding to that matter.

respond means to answer; or to react to somebody.

And we use respond as a verb in different examples but let’s use it in different contexts.

a. Greg responded quickly to the question.

so he answered quickly to the question.

My dog responds to every command I give him.

so he reacts to every command I give him.

Mrs. Cole responded to the medicine.

so well that she was better in two days.

So this is the meaning of respond means to answer or to react to something.

the next essential word.

And the last one is bacon.

This woman in this picture:

she’s baconing

so bacon means to signal by emotion of the hand or head: or we can say attract another and the second meaning of bacon means to attract somebody.

So guys let’s use this verb this word in different examples and make it more clear for you.

a. Jack baconed to me to follow him.

so he signaled me to follow him.

b. The delicious smell of fresh bread baconed the hungry boy.

So this fresh bread attracted the hungry boy.

c. The sea beckons us to adventure.

Exactly.

So these were 12 essential words we studied in this lesson.
