Lesson 24

Hello my dear friends.

Welcome to Lesson number 24 of five-four absolutely essential words.

I am I my grubby and again in this lesson I’m going to introduce twelve essential words.

I’m gonna give you lots of examples and we’re gonna use all of these words in one nice interesting story.

So are you ready to start with the first words? if yes; let’s get started.

the first word is actually fierce

fierce means savage; and wild.

as you can see in this picture the lion is a fierce animal is a savage and a wild animal

so fierce is an adjective; we use it as an adjective but let’s use this word in different examples:

a. Berry was so fiercely angry that he thrust his hand through the glass.

the essential word here is thrust and we studied this word in previous lessons which means to push something with a lot of force; thrust.

example b. One must take appropriate precautions when approaching fierce dogs.

that’s a very nice sentence.

we have actually three essential words in this sentence and we have studied all of these words in previous lessons but let’s review them together one must take appropriate; appropriate means fit; right and suitable.

precocious means careful attention and approaching means coming near or coming close to somebody.

So that’s the meaning of these words.

c. He took one look at his fierce opponent and ran.

That’s very nice.

That’s very funny.

The essential words in this sentences is opponents which means a person that you actually compete against

or we can say your rival rival another synonym for opponent

so fierce was the first essential words of Lesson Number twenty four and that’s a very essential one

word number two is detest

detest

detest means to dislike very much; or we can say hate

a. The world detests people who aren’t valiant.

I completely agree with this sentence

and the essential word in this sentence is valiant which means brave and courageous; brave and courageous.

b. Wally was certain that his girlfriend’s parents would detest him because he had been a delinquent.

so delinquent is an essential word that we studied in the previous lesson can you remember the meaning of delinquent

delinquent means a person who is actually a criminal

criminal is a grace and an M4 for a delinquent.

c. I detest Chinese food but I won’t deprive you of the chance to eat it.

perfect

so deprived means to take somebody right by force

so detest means to hate something or hate somebody

The next word is sneer

sneer or sneer is a verb which means to show scorn or contempt by looks or words; a scornful look or remark.

sneer so we should never sneer anybody because that’s a bad behavior.

a. The journalists were cautious about sneering at the secretary of defense.

so sneer at somebody sneer comes with a proposition at and do you know the meaning of cautious this is an essential word in this sometimes.

cautious means careful watchful and very actually careful about something

b. “ Wipe that sneer off your face! “ the dean told the delinquent.

delinquent he’s a criminal or a guilty person

c. when offered a dime as a tip, the taxi driver sneered at his rider.

sneer: scornful look; or remark.

we can use it as a verb and sometimes we can use it as a noun but most of the time we use it as a verb

and it comes with a proposition at; sneer at somebody that’s a very good point.

OK let’s jump to the next word.

The next word is scowl

You can see this little cute girl or boy scowling at me

scowl means to look angry by lowering the eyebrows; or recast is frown.

I think the best synonym for scowl is frown; frown at somebody

a. Laverne in scowled at her mother when she was prohibited from going out.

I have to tell you at this point that scowl comes with a proposition as scowl at somebody;

and the essential word here is prohibited; prohibits

Can you remember the meaning of prohibit; prohibit means to ban somebody; or forbid somebody from doing something.

b. I dread seeing my father scowl when he gets my report card.

Oh so the essential word here is dread which means to feel scared and to be afraid of doing something.

c. Because of a defect in her vision, It always appeared that Polly was scowling.

So the essential word here is defect.

Defect means error; or mistake.

that’s it scowl.

Very nice and a very essential word.

Next word is encourage

encourage

encourages is a verb and the noun is encouragement.

In this picture you can see the teacher or I don’t so maybe the mother is trying to encourage her child to study to do something

so encourage means to give courage to somebody; increase the confidence of somebody; or to give somebody a positive energy to do something.

a. We encouraged the coach to devise a plan for beating Jefferson High.

So the essential word here is devise.

Can you remember.

And do you know the meaning of devise.

devise means to plan or create or make something.

b. Some unstable persons need to be encouraged to find a vocation.

We have two essential words here.

The first one is on the stable which means not firmly fixed and the next one is a vocation which means job profession or occupation.

And we have studied this word in previous lessons.

c. A valiant person rarely needs to be encouraged

valiant; valiant as I told you before means courageous.

the courageous person friendly which means hardly ever needs to be encouraged.

So these two essential words do not forgive them.

Valiant; brave and courageous really means hardly ever or something that barely happens encourage

My father always encouraged me to study English and that’s why I’m a teacher right now guys.

You should know this point.

This is a secret.

But I would like to share it with you.

Consider

the next word is consider

consider means think about in order to decide

when you consider something; you think about it for a very long time in order to decide and as you can see in this picture of the girl she is sitting by the window and she’s considering some issues.

a. John Considered whether a camprehensive report was necessary

so she was thinking about this issue.

Whether a comprehensive; comprehensive is an essential word of this sentence which means a complete or covering everything.

b. Do you consider that dress to be a bargain at the wholesale price?

That’s a very nice word.

Wholesale price.

So do you know the meaning of wholesale; wholesale means selling something in quantity in large quantities

so it’s less expensive.

c. The wrestler was always considered to be the underdog in every match.

So the essential work here is on their dog.

Do you understand.

Can you remember the meaning of underdog; underdog means loser a person who is expected to lose.

That’s it

consider is a verb and consideration is a noun.

the next nice word is a vermin.

vermin

vermin; small animals that are troublesome or destructive; fleas; bedbugs; lice; rats; and mice are vermin.

as you can see this mouse in this picture.

That’s a vermin and a troublesome.

We should get rid of them Sometimes

a. We should try to eliminate all vermin from our house.

The essential word here is eliminate which means to delete; or remove something.

b. Some reptiles aet vermin as their food.

So the essential word here is a reptile

As you can remember the reptiles or animals that crawls or creeps like snakes or crocodiles.

c. although vermin are not always visible, they probably inhabit every house in the city.

So we have two essential words here.

The first one is visible.

visible means something that you can see and the next one is inhabit which means to live in; to live in one place.

So that’s a very essential word of this part Vermin.

the next word is wail

as you can see this child is wailing which means cry loud a line because of grief for pain.

a. When tragedy struck, the old people began to wail.

They began to cry.

They began to actually cry loudly because of grief and pain.

The essential word to is tragedy which means a great misfortune.

b. In some countries the women are expected to weigh loudly after their husbands die.

c. When the Yankees lost the World Series, there was much wailing in New York.

wail to cry loud and long.

that’s a very nice and essential word.

symbol

This is a very simple and nice word symbol.

We know everybody knows the meaning of symbol; symbol means something that stands for or represents something else.

the very be symbolize.

Let’s use these words in different examples.

a. The statue outside the court building is considered a symbol of justice.

Justice means fair.

rights.

And we study this word in previous lessons.

b. Symbols for a god are prohibited in their religion.

Yes.

And the essential word in this sentence is prohibited which means banned and actually forbids.

c. An olive branch is a symbol of peace.

Oh that’s a very nice part.

Did you know guys that olive branch is a symbol of peace.

Oh I love olives, They are very delicious.

authority

authority

authority means the right to command or enforce obedience; power delegated to another; or we can say an author or volume that may be appealed to in support of an action or belief.

authority

authority people who command; command or enforce the obedience or orders.

a. No one should have the authority to dictate our career choice.

exactly

b. today a monatch does not have the authority he once enjoyed.

do you nice do you guys know the meaning of monarch.

Can you remember monarch means a king or queen.

That’s the meaning of monarch.

c. The Supreme Court is entrusted with the authority to interpret our Constitution.

So that’s the meaning of authority.

Yes you can see that guy in this picture is ordering a commanding others he’s the authority.

neutral

neutral is the last word of this lesson number 24.

neutral means on neither side of a quarrel or war.

When a person is on neither side of the quarrel a war we call him neutral.

a. It is logical to remain neutral in a violent argument between spouses.

We have three essential words here.

I’m gonna explain them very fast logical means something that is a rational reasonable violent to me as cruel and spouses means husbands or wives and we study these three words in previous lossons but we are trying to review them right here.

b. Switzerland was a neutral country in World War ll.

at all; didn’t reject the idea that remained neutral about it but where it remained neutral about it.

So reject means to deny; and actually to refuse something and we say this word.

I think a lesson number 20.
