Do you have any hobbies?

Well, I’m really interested in woodworking, I’m an artist.

Oh, OK.

I’m just good at making things.

That’s great.

I guess my favorite thing is making jewelry, I do beading, you know, necklaces and things.

And I also make silver jewelry.

Wow.

Yeah. You know, it’s funny, I get good at something, and then I want to try something else.

I think, OK, what’s next?

Do you sell the things you make?

Oh, yeah. Sometimes I can make a lot of money.

That’s good.

Yeah.

Are your things really expensive?

They are, but I spend a lot, too, silver’s expensive.

Do you have any hobbies?

Well, not really.

I have all these teddy bears.

That’s kind of a hobby, I guess, collecting them.

Oh. How many do you have?

About fifty.

Are they all different?

Yeah.

They’re different sizes, and they have different clothes and stuff.

Are they expensive?

Actually, I don’t know. I got all of them for gifts. I mean, I don’t go out and buy them!

I’m not really that interested.

Huh.

I usually get them for my birthday or when people go, you know, on trips or something.

They always bring me back a bear.

What hobbies do you have?

Well, I just started playing golf.

Oh, really? Do you take lessons?

Oh, yes. I think you have to really, I mean, it’s expensive but…

Right.

So, how’s it going?

Well, you know, some days I stand there and swing and swing, and I can’t even hit the ball!

Yeah?

Well, I’m getting better.

You know, we’re all good at some things and not good at other things, but I’m very good at watching golf on television.

Right.

So, what hobbies do you have?

Well, I like gardening, I really enjoy it.

It gives me time outdoors, time around the house.

Uh-huh. So do you grow flowers or…?

Um, flowers sort of look pretty, but I really like to grow vegetables.

Right now, I have peas, onions, uh, and tomatoes. I never have much luck with tomatoes.

Do you sell your vegetables?

Oh, no. I’d like to, but I never have enough.

I’m really not too good at it.

But you keep trying?

Oh, yeah.

I love to eat fresh vegetables.
