1. Hi, Ted, it’s Carol here. Just wondered if you felt like coming to the cinema tonight. Magic Mountain’s on at the Odeon, and it’s had great reviews.

It starts at 7.30, so we could meet beforehand for a snack if you like … at the cafe in Market Street. Can you ring me back?

1. Ted, this is Donald Ferguson. Meant to ask you at work, but I was too busy with the Brussels project. Um, my wife and I would like to invite you to dinner here one evening.

Maybe next week? We were thinking of Friday at about 7. Nothing too formal. I just like to get to know my junior managers a bit better. You can ring me at home.
