Lesson 74 - How often?

How often do you study English? Every day? Well, maybe it’s not every day, but I hope it’s often. Let’s practice answering the question ‘how often?’ You can study with my students Flavia and Andreia. Okay, ladies. Let’s talk about not ‘when,’ but ‘how often.’ Right? For example, you like walking with your dog. You take your dog for walks. How often? Is that every day?

On weekend. On the weekends. And if it’s Saturday, do you take a walk one time, two, times, three times? How many walks? One. One walk? A long walk. Then minutes. Yes, yes. Okay. So I asked, “How often?” You say, “Well, on the weekend.” “Every weekend.” On Saturdays and Sundays. Okay. I know you have cats. Right? I bet you hold your cats. Yes? Yeah. And you hug your cats.

Yes. How often? On the weekend? Every time. All the time. So every day. Many times. Often. So, “How often?” I’m asking if it’s always, never.so let’s think about those words. Always. So it’s similar. ‘Often’ is like ‘frequently.’ And ‘usually’ is. Alright the opposite of ‘often’? You can also say ‘not often.’ Not often, which is the same as ‘rarely.’ So you can say ‘often’ or ‘not often.’ Rarely. Okay? you can do that.
