متن انگلیسی درس

Hi, I’m Vanessa from Speak English with Vanessa.com and today you are going to learn how to talk about getting married.

Let’s get started.

As many of you know, at the end of August it was my husband and I’s fifth wedding anniversary. We have been married for five years. A lot of you wrote really nice congratulations emails to me and you asked some questions about our marriage, about getting married, but there are a few mistakes that I saw again and again, so I wanted to make this video for you, so the next time you don’t make the same mistakes.

A lot of you asked “when did you married?” “When did you marry?” But the best way to ask this question is “when did you get married?” get married.

And this is the expression that we use the most to describe marriage. When did you get married? GET MARRIED, so I want to give you some sample sentences with GET MARRIED.

You could say “when did you get married?” “He is getting married in three months “ in three months.

“I got married five years ago “, “I got married last week! “ “I got married ten years ago “

They haven’t gotten married yet, even though they have been dating for six years” THEY HAVEN’T GOTTEN MARRIED YET.

Now some of you are not married, so you could say “I haven’t gotten married yet “ I HAVEN’T GOTTEN MARRIED. This expression: “got married “, “ get married “ , “gotten married “ is very common to use, so I want to make sure you’re able to use it in a natural way when you talk about marriage.

Some of you asked me about the actual date we got married. We call this “the wedding day”. THE WEDDING DAY. On my wedding day, I got married.

On your wedding day, you got married. So let’s use this word “wedding “ to describe the actual day. You could say “ My wedding was five years ago”, “We planned on getting married outside, but it rained on our wedding day “. This is a true story. We planned on getting married outside, we planned on having the ceremony outside, but it rained on our wedding day, but it’s OK. If you have a positive attitude, it’s not the end of the world.

Or you could say “their wedding is next week, they are getting married next week. Their wedding is next week.

Now is your turn: Can you write a sentence using the expression “get married “. If you are not married, don’t worry. You don’t have to write about yourself. You can write about someone else, but practice using the expression “get married “ I’ll look forward to seeing in your comments below the video and I try to give you as much feedback as possible.

Talk to you later, goodbye.
