This Thursday, we have a basketball game at my school. So, we practice very hard. We want to win, but our opponents are twelfth graders. They will be stronger than us. We fear that we will lose this basketball game. I wish our opponents were eleventh graders rather than twelfth graders, because we could easily win this game. But it is not a fact. Our opponents are indeed twelfth graders. It will not be easy for us to win.

Eventually, Thursday arrives. We have spent many hours preparing for this game. We have been anxiously awaiting this day for a long time. The referee lets us practice for two minutes. Then, we put on our numbered T- shirts, which helps the referee to easily spot each player who breaks the rules.

First, we shake hands with each other. Then, I jump for the ball. The game has started, and our team gets the ball. Suddenly, the enemy steals the ball from my teammate. The ball is in the enemy’s hands, and the enemy attacks. We can’t defend well, though, because they are too fast.

We aren’t as fast as they are. They get two points. Now, it is our turn. We begin to attack.

No sooner do we begin to attack when the enemy takes the ball from us once again. It is a long shot. We already lost sixteen points. At last, we lose. So, we are sad. We practiced for a long time. My teacher says that it’s okay, because next year, we will be better.
