A Trip to Japan by Cindy

On August thirteenth2009, we started this trip. Our flight was at eight twenty- five, Taiwanese time. By the way, Japanese time is faster than Taiwanese time by an hour. After we landed in Japan, we headed to a special park. There were many deer at the park. As soon as we got there, we bought cookies made especially for the deer. When my mom took the bag that was full of these cookies, she was surrounded by deer. Some deer even bit my mom’s bottom, because she didn’t feed them. Those deer are smart. If you give cookies to them and say“ thank you” to them in Japanese, they will bow to you. After leaving the deer, we went to a temple. In the temple was a bronze statue of the biggest Buddha in the world. After visiting the temple, we went to Kyoto train station. This station connects the department store to an underground street and train station. We had dinner at one of the underground restaurants. Finally, we went to Otsu Prince Hotel.

The second day, we first went to the temple, Kiyomizudera. The temple is famous for three springs. People say that the springs haven’t stopped since the temple was built back in798. This is why the temple is called, “ Kiyomizudera”. After we finished visiting, we took a little ride on Torokko Train. If you take this little train in spring, you can see many of Japan’s national flowers, like their cherry blossoms. If you take the train in the fall, you will see a lot of maple leaves. Since we went there in summer, we only saw the view of the river. Next, we went to a place in the northern part of Kobe. Many foreigners once lived in this area. Because these foreign houses are different from local houses, some of the houses we visited had been converted to museums. We visited a house which was lived in by a German long ago. We ate dinner near the Port of Kobe. Finally, we went to Kobe Portopia Hotel.
