it’s important to think about how your actions affect other people; when you do something, consider the overall effect; will it help or hurt them?

people can’t smoke cigarettes in our office building so the company allows employees to go outside to smoke.

my city banned cell phone use while driving; drivers have to stop their cars to make cell phone calls.

government leaders should make decisions that are good for the whole community not just some of the people.

we need to make our own individual decisions, not copy what everyone else does; for example some people refuse to pay taxes.

a few people are against the new no smoking law but the majority supported.

it’s important to have freedom to choose your religion, it’s unethical for someone to tell you which religion to choose.

government should spend money where it will do the greatest good and help the most people.

I believe it is wrong to hurt or kill animals because of this principle, I don’t eat meat.

the government gives the people the right of free speech, that means that people are free to say what they want and the government can’t stop them.

we have to pay a tax on everything we buy, the government uses that extra money to pay for schools and roads.

I wanted to buy cigarettes but I made the more utilitarian choice and spent my last $20 on groceries.
