tell me about your job dear Marina; what do you do?

well as a salesperson umm… mainly I’m greeting customers that come into the store, helping them with any questions they might have…

and giving them information about the furniture.

that’s what I do here.

I like talking to the people; helping them find what they’re looking for.

Know, you said you majored in…

Advertising.

is that something that you want to get into, in the future or…?

Possibly; if the right job came along.

advertising is a pretty good industry; is in it?

I mean right now…

it is; it’s pretty competitive.

but the thing is, where I’m at right now it be hard for me to go back and start over in an entry-level position with a different job somewhere else; even if it was in advertising.

because of the pay mainly, I’m in a senior position here.

of course; now, do you do anything in terms of advertising?

Here?

Yeah; advertising for the store, publicity, anything like that?

yeah, I do actually!

we have two websites that I help with.

I do a newsletter for the customers, and I’ve done magazine and newspaper ads, and some radio ads as well.

Really?

Yeah! So, in fact, I’ve done quite a bit of stuff here, and business is good.

it’s growing all the time.

do you design the webpages?

I don’t design them; I just write up all the information that goes up.

catchphrases and stuff like that?

Yeah, I like write all the copy…

Right.

and then of course we take the pictures or had the pictures done, and then you know we put the ads together that way.

have you ever thought about working on the side? doing advertising for other companies and stuff, while you’re working here?

No, not really…

to tell you the truth, I don’t really think I have enough experience.

there’s a lot of software you have to know to do that kind of work, which I don’t know.

and besides, pretty busy here.

there is a lot going on at the store.

Right; I can see that!
