Michael was traveling at 130 km an hour when he hit the ground. But he didn’t die because he landed in some bushes near the airfield. They were over 2 m high and very thick. The bushes saved his life. He was badly injured. His ankle was fractured in several places and he had a punctured lung. But he was alive. Fortunately, another skydiver saw him land. So they found him very quickly and took him to hospital. He was in hospital for 11 days and he couldn’t walk for a few months after that. But he soon started skydiving again. It was a million to one chance, he said. I don’t think it will ever happen to me again.
