Unit 25- B

1. It was always fairly quiet in our house because there was only one of me. I was an … an only child, you know. My parents didn’t like a lot of noise, anyway.

They both worked from home. It was quite funny really - we all had our separate studies, and most evenings we’d go off to work in our own little rooms. I’d be doing my homework, of course. It was a pity I didn’t have any brothers or sisters. I … I remember being very lonely, really.

Well, we live in a huge house, really big. It’s always a mess because there are six of us, although my mum and my auntie are always tidying up. My dad died when I was young, you see, so we live with my auntie and her children. They’re twins and they’re the same age as me, so it’s great! They’re just like my sisters.

At the moment I’m a student, living away from home. I live at my grandmother’s. It’s very convenient. Her house is only five minutes away from the university, so I can walk there and save on bus fares. We get on really well, and she cooks all my meals. She cooks better than my mother, actually!

1. My brothers are always telling me and my sister what to do because they’re bigger than we are, but Dad says we mustn’t argue and fight so much, now there’s a new baby in the house. We do try to help Mum if we can. The thing I like doing most is taking the dog for a walk, straight after school.
