1. Yes, Claudia’s Scottish, actually - she comes from Dunbar, near Edinburgh. She’s, oh, she’s 16 now, I think.

She comes from a large family, lots of brothers and sisters, but the funny thing is,she really finds it difficult to meet people, and hates going out. It’s a pity really.

1. Jim’s parents are both doctors, you know. The whole family are very musical, and they all play in concerts together. He’s such a nice boy.

Always says hello to you when he sees you, and even holds doors open! That’s very unusual nowadays.

1. Apparently, poor old Miss Henderson had a boyfriend once, a long time ago. But do you know why she never got married? Because she had to look after her elderly mother, who was very ill at the time.

So she gave up her freedom and her chance of getting married. I wonder if she ever looks back and thinks …

1. Gary spends an awful lot of money on clothes. Luckily, he has a good job with a high salary - he works in his father’s company. He certainly isn’t mean.

I know he spends money on his friends, too - buys them big presents on their birthdays, takes them out, that sort of thing.

1. Everyone at the local school liked Mr Lewis. He was a wonderful teacher. I feel rather sorry for him, now he’s retired. He doesn’t seem to have any hobbies, and he spends a lot of rime on his own.

I don’t think he looks very happy. I sometimes think I should go round and ask …
