Unit 21- B2

Bella’s a lovely girl. She is. I’ve liked her ever since I first met her. All my mates say I’m dead lucky to have her as my girlfriend.

Things don’t always work out right when we go out. I. I mean, I work really hard, and it’s long hours - I’m a car mechanic, you know - so after work I’m often tired. Don’t find it easy to say what I mean, either - never have. And Bella, well, she’s at college, you see.

She and her friends have an easy life there, so in the evenings she’s full of energy - very lively and energetic she is. As you know, she does talk a lot. Tends to go on and on. I sometimes wish we could just sit quietly there together. To tell the truth, I quite often switch off. All those stories about what she’s doing at college.

I never had the chance to go, you see, and I wonder if one day she’ll decide she’d rather be with one of her student friends than me. And if I hear any more about that Richie Hunk, I’ll go mad! My mum doesn’t like Bella much, thinks she’s too proud of herself, so that doesn’t make things any easier.
