Jessica: So, what exactly do you do, Amy?

Amy: Well, I’m a farm accountant. You know I drive round visiting farms?

J: Well, yes.

A: Well, I help farmers with their accounts. It’s all to do with money coming in and going out, taxes, expenses and so on. You see, they’re so busy, they don’t have time for all the paperwork.

J: Oh, it must be really lovely being out in the country, driving round all those beautiful lanes, while I’m stuck in my office!

A: Well, it’s great in the summer, especially on a sunny morning with all the birds singing. But it’s quite a different story in the winter. The roads can get quite dangerous if there’s a lot of snow or if it freezes. I nearly had an accident this morning on an icy bend. [Oh] But people in the country will always stop and help you.

J: So, you wouldn’t want to work in town?

A: No, definitely not. I like being able to breathe fresh air and see green fields on my way to work.I love the open space and the sense of freedom.
