Now, wasn’t that nice, Fred? A really beautiful house!

Don’t see why it’s called the Queen’s House. It’s got King’s rooms in it, hasn’t it? So why don’t they call it the King’s House?

Oh, Fred, don’t you ever listen? It was built for Queen Anne of Denmark - that’s why it’s the Queen’s House. Very nice of her to let the King come and visit, I’m sure. Now, what shall we go and see next?

I’m not going anywhere! My feet hurt.

Oh come on, Fred! We only come to London once a year! There’s all this afternoon before our train home. Um, how about a nice boat trip on the River Thames? Or we could do a bit of shopping in Oxford Street.

No! I’m not going shopping! You spend enough time doing that at home. Oh, if we have to do something, it might as well be the boat trip, I suppose. How much does it cost?

Oh, very cheap, don’t let’s worry about that. And afterwards we could get on a bus and go to Trafalgar Square. They do a lovely pot of tea in the National Gallery restaurant. You’d like that.

Oh, all right then. But I warn you, next year I’m staying at home. You can go to London on your own!
