• Hello?

• Hi Robert. This is Tina.

• Hi Tina. What’s up?

• Well, actually, would you mind lending me your camera for a few days? I want to take some photos of my new apartment to send to my folks.

• No problem. You can borrow it.

2 - Kyle

• Hello?

• Hi Maggie. This is Kyle.

• Oh hi. How are things with you?

• Pretty good. Listen, I was wondering if I could borrow your breadmaker.

• My breadmaker? Don’t tell me you are going to bake.

• I know. I’m planning to cock dinner for my girlfriend this weekend. And I want to bake bread and I want it to be perfect. I remember you baked some amazing bread with that thing. So, what do you say? Can I borrow it? I’ll be careful.

• Well, I have bad news. It’s broken. I’ve been meaning to get it fixed, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

• Oh, too bad.

• But you know. You can always just bake bread on your own.

• I don’t know. Maybe I’ll just go to a bakery.

3 - Phil

• Hi Lily. It’s Phil.

• Hi Phil. What’s up?

• Not much, but I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor.

• Well, I have to go out of town for a few days next week.

• Could I leave Polly with you while I’m gone?

• Thanks. I really appreciate it. I’ll bring her over on Tuesday night.
