This is the second part of the math vocabulary lesson.

Fraction

We call it fraction because it’s a partial number.

It is not a whole number.

Take a look at this number

This is called numerator.

and this is called denominator.

Now let’s take a look at these.

I’m going to read them for you.

this is one half.

one third

A quarter

or

one forth

one fifth

and so on

Decimal

Decimal is a kinda number that includes points.

Can you see the point?

yeah

For example

zero point five

nineteen point five

eighteen point seventy-five

these are the numbers that I usually read in my classes, When I want to read the students scores.

What is a point?

Take a look at this number

For example:

zero point five

this zero is called the whole number

this is called the point

And the number that comes after the point

is called the decimal place.

So, whatever number that comes after the point

we just call it decimal place.

Which can include

umm

One tenth

One hundredth

and one thousendth

Exponent

This was the part that was very hard for me when I was in highschool.

Anyways

let’s wrap this up.

We call it X to the power of two

alright?

but when you wanna to read it in mathematic

we don’t read it like this.

We read it

X squared

As easy as that.

the other one

X cubed

This is X to the power of four

You can also change the numbers with letters.

For example we can say X to the power of n

which means it’s unlimitted.

Root

when you have square it’s opposite would be, finding the root

Take a look at this number

The square root of nine is three.
