The Turning Point In My Life by Stella

I remember when I was about four years old. I liked to keep little animals, such as butterflies, ladybugs, grasshoppers, silkworms, etc., as pets. A silkworm is a tiny, white worm with a long body. As a child, it eats Mulberry leaves. When it grows up, it changes its shape to become a moth.

It gave me great childhood memories to have one, especially as its body size would change. I would watch it grow bigger and bigger. I think when silkworms change their skin, they always feel pain. It’s like a woman trying on a ring, but the ring is so small that her finger gets stuck in it. No matter what, though, the silkworm has to face up to the challenge to become a beautiful moth. I think the silkworm’s situation is similar to mine.

When I was eight years old, my mother sent me to a cram school to learn English. Teachers were stern and always asked me to get better grades on tests. When I failed, they always punished me with a big thick stick. This situation often happened to me. For this reason, I had a strong sense of exclusion and fear. I told my mom all about what had happened to me.

I went totally crazy and even said that I didn’t want to learn English anymore. It was just like facing an enemy, holding a big stone over me and hitting me repeatedly until I was dead. Then, why am I still standing here? Well, that’s a good question! At that time, the stress around me was overwhelming, and I just wanted to give up, but my mother encouraged me to face this problem. From that moment on, I went to another English class. The teacher was nice to me. She was very patient with me, and she taught me the correct way to learn English. After learning this way, I became more interested in English.

I am happy now and don’t hate English anymore. This was the turning point in my life, and now I’m going to be a beautiful moth. I think it’ll be very exciting and interesting in the future!
