Chinese New Year is a traditional Chinese festival. It is just like Christmas in America. Chinese New Year is usually during our winter vacation, and we can have a long holiday.

There are many customs of Chinese New Year. One is eating fish. Just like Americans eat turkey, eating fish is said to make our next year go smoothly. During Chinese New Year, adults will give children red envelopes. All children look forward to getting red envelopes. When you get the red envelopes, you can not open them right at that moment, because it is not polite. Chinese New Year is a special festival.

Most families will have a big meal together. The feeling of getting together is good! I think Chinese New Year is the most important festival in Taiwan. It’s fun!
