Shackleton and his crew realized they have to wait 10 months until November.

So, there they lived; on the ship, stuck in the ice, waiting for spring.

He decided to take one of the small boats and sail back to a whaling station on South Georgia.

and when they walked inside as the story goes, station manager took one look at these guys and said “who are you?”.

over the next four months, Shackleton tried three times to rescue the men back on elephant Island.
